Prosper Texas

Prosper is a town in Collin County, Texas. The population was 2,097 at the 2000 census.

Prosper, Texas was a small rural town on Preston Road (SH 289) in North Texas about 6 mi (9 km) north of Frisco, Texas.

In recent years, Prosper has true to its name prospered. Like its neighboring town, Celina about 4 mi (6 km) to the north, Prosper is growing quickly in terms of new home building (houses in the $200,000 to $500,000 range). In addition to a long-time retail filling station, in 2004 Prosper saw its second and 3rd retail establishments arrive: a Sonic restaurant, and an Exxon On The Run station.

The Town of Prosper is served by the Prosper Independent School District.
